The latest Opinions on Accelerating the Use of Natural Gas issued by the National Development and Reform Commission clearly stated that natural gas should be gradually cultivated as one of the main energy sources of China's modern clean energy system. The white paper of China's Energy Development in the New Era also emphasized that the role of natural gas as a bridge in low-carbon transformation will be enhanced. Natural gas is a low-carbon clean energy, a bridge for the transition of energy from high carbon to zero carbon, and plays a positive role in promoting carbon neutrality.

At the same time, natural gas, as a clean and low-carbon fossil energy, helps to achieve the goal of carbon peak. China will actively promote high-quality development of the natural gas industry. Through reasonable guidance and market construction, the National Energy Administration estimates that China's natural gas consumption will reach 430-450 billion cubic meters in 2025 and 5500-600 billion cubic meters in 2030. For this reason, the market for upstream exploration and production, midstream storage and transportation, and downstream application end users of natural gas will continue to grow explosively.
