China Classification Society issues certificate for the first set of deepwater oil recovery trees in China

On May 6, China Classification Society (CCS) Chongqing Branch issued a product certificate for the first deep-water Christmas tree and control system manufactured by Chongqing Qianwei Technology Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Chongqing Qianwei"), marking that CCS's inspection service capability for underwater production system technology has reached a new level and made a key breakthrough in helping China's deep-water oil and gas production system to localize its core components, It has taken a solid first step in ensuring China's energy security and solving the "choke" problem.

As the core equipment of the offshore oil and gas production system, the oil recovery tree is an important component located at the opening to the top of the subsea well, connecting the production pipeline from the well to the crude oil output pipeline, with the function of regulating and controlling the flow rate and balancing the pressure inside and outside the well, as well as serving as an important barrier against blowouts by isolating the top of the well from the external environment. It can also be used as a valve to regulate or stop the produced crude oil vapor, natural gas and liquid from gushing out of the well, as well as measurement system, monitoring system and safety system.
　　
The oil recovery tree is a technology that has long been monopolized by foreign countries because of its harsh working environment, complex systems, and high R&D and manufacturing costs. To solve this key core technology of deepwater oil recovery tree, under the support of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, CNOOC took the lead, Chongqing Qianwei specifically undertook and carried out the research of this technology, and China Classification Society participated in the whole process and helped to realize the engineering demonstration application of the core equipment of the localized subsea oil and gas production system.
　　
Since the project was approved and launched in December 2018, under the unified command of the CCS Offshore Division, CCS has set the technical and inspection advantages of the whole system, with a clear division of labor and solid responsibilities to fully guarantee the smooth development of the project: the CCS Offshore Technology Center provides technical support/product review, the CCS Chongqing Branch is responsible for the whole process of manufacturing inspection, and the Zhanjiang Branch is responsible for offshore testing and witnessing services.

At the moment of the epidemic, in view of the technical difficulty of this project and the number of tackling projects, CCS Offshore Technology Center overcame the difficulties of tight schedule and heavy workload, organized the relevant technical personnel of the subsea production system to join hands collectively to tackle the problem and complete the audit work at the first time. The Chongqing branch has set up a deep-water oil recovery tree inspection team by deploying party members to provide all-weather, uninterrupted and full-process inspection services, covering Jiangsu, Liaoning, Sichuan, Chongqing and other regions, and solving a series of technical problems for customers. Especially during the "May Day" period this year, in the extremely tight schedule for obtaining certificates and the extremely heavy workload, Chongqing Branch deployed four members of the Product Division to form a vanguard team, giving up their vacations and working overtime to ensure that the certificates were issued as scheduled. the quality and efficient service provided by CCS throughout the project was fully affirmed by CNOOC and Chongqing Qianwei.
　　
Through full participation in the whole process of inspection practice and technical service of this demonstration project of underwater production system, CCS accumulated technical service and inspection experience of the leading products of underwater production system, cultivated the technical team of the whole process of inspection service, improved the inspection service capability of the core key equipment of underwater production system, established the independent standard system and technical system of production equipment certification, and further improved the service quality and level.
