There are two types of movable elbows: long radius and short radius. Long radius movable elbows have a smooth passage diameter, which minimizes the resistance to fluid passage, and the fluid is more resistant to scouring and corrosion at the wall thickness of the turn than short radius, but sometimes short radius is also used due to the limitation of installation space at the site or when the pressure is low.
